Samuel O. Rogers passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospice, Duluth, after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Sam served in the Army from 1970 to ‘72 in Fort Riley, Kan.
Sam was a career truck driver, and loved his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his sons, and following NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline (Foster) Rogers; sister, Phyllis Johnson; and father-in-law, Robert Madden.
Sam will be missed by his loving wife, Kathy; three sons, Dan Madden, Dawson and Craig Lush; brothers, Bill (Diane) Rogers and Ed (Sherry) Rogers; sister, Eva (Leroy) Simons; brothers-in-law, Robert (Mary) Madden and Bob Johnson; special nephew, Robert “Roo” Madden and Ernie Silvers; mother-in-law, Dorothy Madden; nieces and nephews, Bill, Sheila, Tina, Dale, Starr, Cory; and many friends.
A memorial service was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Salem Covenant, 339 N 59th Ave. W, Duluth.
Visitation was one hour prior to services by Cremation Society of Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Miller Dwan Foundation for Solvay Hospice House.
