Members of student senate elected
The student senate at Rainy River Community College elected several new members to next year’s senate. Tyler Borgen was elected president, Monica McAllister was elected vice president and Autumn Arch was elected as a senator.
Borgen said his goals are to revive the student council, have students more involved in the community, re-starting spirit week and improving the fine arts. He said he also wants to update the commons lounge area with high definition television and new couches.

L-BF program receives grant
The Littlefork-Big Falls Early Childhood Program received a grant from the Northland Foundation in the amount of $1,608 to purchase equipment and parent curriculum. These resources will provide assistance in reaching the Early Childhood Family Education Standards set by the state. Lynette Anderson is the instructor who will benefit from the grant.

Student participates in service day
Andrea Pautz, of International Falls, participated in Beaver Service Make-a-Difference Day, held April 12 at Bemidji State University.
Pautz, a junior majoring in industrial technology, volunteered at the Gold Pine Home, an assisted living facility.
The Beaver Service Day is a program coordinated by the Hobson Memorial Union to promote civic engagement within the campus community and to offer necessary help to local agencies, organizations and nonprofits.
