Forty eight Bemidji State University students have entered area elementary, middle and secondary schools this fall to participate in student teaching assignments.
The student teaching program at Bemidji State provides education majors with an opportunity to earn the valuable classroom experience they need to be a successful educator. The program is designed to place students in a public school classroom under the supervision of an experienced mentor teacher.
For many of these 48 students, the student teaching assignment is the final step in the completion of their undergraduate teaching degrees at Bemidji State.
From International Falls, Brittany Bolstad, early childhood education, is teaching third grade with Kim Coequyt-Hoff at Central Elementary in Bemidji.
Also from the Falls, is Katy Prettyman, English education, who is teaching English with Nancy McBride at Littlefork-Big Falls High School.
From Littlefork, Samantha Anderson, early childhood education, is teaching third grade with Heather Anderson at Northern Elementary in Bemidji.
