Shelby Thorstad, of Ray, has been named a member of the Bemidji Choir at Bemidji State University.

The soprano is a freshman in music at BSU.

Membership to the choir is by audition. The choir is directed by Dr. P. Bradley Logan, a professor of music at BSU.

The Bemidji Choir has an international reputation for excellence. It has represented the United States on several occasions, performing in France, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and Israel.
