Seminar planned for Saturday

Karen Walls and Jeanne Corrin have each survived breast cancer.
Because of their personal experiences with the disease, they want to share what they’ve learned and found to work for them.
“We are on a new journey to help educate other people too, to look at their individual health, so they don’t join our breast cancer club,” said Walls.
Walls said the two women’s journey was not by choice, but after being introduced to the benefits of essential oils and the damage toxins can cause, they felt an obligation to share the information.
The two women will offer “Biology of Cancer — Take a Stand” at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 820 Fourth St., International Falls. Cost is free. Walls and Corrin are distributors of Young Living Essential Oils.
Walls and Corrin noted that it takes multiple mutations of cells to develop into cancer and the immune system usually takes care of these flaws, however, sometimes the sum of these “unapparent” factors overburdens the immune system.
Cancer doesn’t just happen, so what can people do to prevent it?, they wondered.
The seminar will feature Connie and Michael McDanel, owners of Wise Choice Resource Center LLC, which serves more than 12,000 people seeking vibrant physical health using botanicals and nutrition. Fueled after the loss of four young family members to cancer, they set in motion a passionate commitment to change the statistics.
As trainers, their participants learn about nature’s medicine — essential oils and nutrition — that other countries have reportedly been using for centuries in preventing and treating allergies, colds, flu, injuries, viruses and more serious health challenges. Participants learn how essential oils reportedly improve our bodies’ ability to achieve outstanding physical and emotional results. The McDanels claim that audiences learn how to: create a healthy medicine chest; green their home and workplace; and fill nutritional gaps to help encourage health. Wise Choice has been in operation more than 12 years.
Walls said people can’t rid all their environment from toxins, but can work to make their environment more healthy.
“So the things I have control over, I feel like I should change,” she said. “Less toxins puts that much less stress on my body.”
She noted that the seminar will offer alternatives to medicines, cleaning products and other products used in the home.
