National Nursing Home Week celebrated

To the editor,
National Nursing Home Week, which is scheduled to begin on Mother’s Day May 11 and end May 18, is a special week, where residents, caregivers, families, staff and volunteers honor and celebrate nursing-facility life.
Good Samaritan Society - International Falls will be holding fund events and projects throughout the week that tie into the theme, “Love is Ageless,” one of which is called Love Lanes.
We would like to invite the public to help us with the Love Lanes project by stopping in during the week, writing one (or more) short note of love and attaching it to a wall on Sunrise Lane, Sunset Lane or River Land. Notes may be written on colorful cutouts of musical notes or hearts which will be located on coffee tables in the River Front Lounge and between the recliners adjacent to the Pine Cone Grill. Individuals who would like to crate their own note at home may do so and send it to the center, 1402 Hwy. 71, in care of the Love Lanes project.
This week, as well, we would like to thank the generous people of our community for the support that they shower on the residents at Good Samaritan Society - International Falls. Such gracious gifts — volunteering and visiting, making monetary donations and sponsoring an event or project — go a long way toward brightening the lives of our residents and helping us continue to give great care and live our missions, which is to share God’s love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that “In Christ’s love, everyone is someone.”
