Jim A. Wickstrom, son of Harriett Larson of International Falls, graduated from Augsburg College in May with a major in psychology.
Last year when Larry Crosby decided to play for the Junior A’s in the United States Hockey League, the Bronco goalie didn’t know if he was doing the right thing playing amateur hockey. Crosby, who guided the Broncos to the Minnesota State High School Tournament in 1983 as a senior, doesn’t have any regrets now. He just landed a $50,000 plus scholarship to play hockey at Providence College of Rhode Island.

Business manager of Falls Nursing Home Bob Ryan gave his farewell speech to the staff at a coffee party in his honor in the home dining room Monday afternoon. He calculated that he was retiring after 10 years, 1 month, 15 days and 2 1/2 hours in the position.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Fred) Leinum, 1701 First Ave. W., South International Falls, will be honored on the occasion of their 45th wedding anniversary in the Zion Lutheran Church parlors from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Fred A. Servis, son of Mrs. Dolores M. Service, of 512 Ninth St., has been promoted to staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Mrs. Ernest (Anna Dorothea) Wold, 57, of 510 Fifth St., active church and club woman and a tutor in School District 361, died yesterday afternoon at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Janice Gates was honored at a surprise birthday dinner Saturday at Island View Lodge.
Shelley, 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clarity, 1022 Ninth St., postponed her birthday celebration from Friday until Sunday in order that she might have a party on the same day her father had his birthday and when her parents were observing their wedding anniversary.
Charles Wood, 89, is enjoying the visit of his children who are here for the family reunion which is to be held this week.
After 32 years of residence in the Terrace Flats, 417 Fifth St., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laurion are moving to their lake home at Forest Point. On Sunday evening the Laurions were honored at a party by all the residents of the Flats on the south side of Fifth Street.

Pfc. Wayne F. Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Peterson, 1209 First Ave. E.,, is presently training as an Air Force technician at USAF Technical School at Fort Warren, Wyo.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stenberg, Highway 53, are parents of a son born today in Falls Memorial Hospital. The infant weighed 10 pounds, 2 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. John Klow, 309 Eighth St., was entertained at a stork shower in the home of Mrs. David Palm, 919 Riverside.
Four generations of the Emil Hanson family, 304 Sixth St., recently gathered for a reunion in International Falls. Mrs. Hanson has been a Falls resident since 1912 and her husband recently retired from Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company after 30 years of service.
