Former Rainy River Community College Nursing Director Linda Nordlund has accepted a one-year instructional position in the college’s nursing program, Provost Ray Berg has announced. She replaces Judy Junker, who has taken a one-year leave of absence.
Margaret Keyes, Ranier, recently attended homecoming activities at the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, that marked the beginning of the 70th anniversary of the college.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Spears, 315 13th St., announce the engagement of their daughter, Gwen Carol, to Ervin Mikish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mikish, Staples.
Marine Lance Cpl. Michael J. Edens, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Edens of Ranier, is serving with the First Marine Division in Vietnam.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Oliverson and sons, Don and Neal, have returned home from a 6,000-mile, four-and-a-half week trip, in which they covered 12 states.
Former Falls residents Mr. and Mrs. Larry Arch and family, now of Albert Lea, are vacationing for two weeks in Borderland.

Rev. Charles Berg, new pastor of Calvary Methodist Church, and wife will be honored at a family night potluck supper at 6 o’clock Friday. In charge of arrangements are Mrs. Gus Mainville, Mrs. Hugo Olson, Mrs. Leonard Loveland, Mrs. Glenn Leeman and Mrs. George Harrington.
Robert Frost, 24, St. Paul, a graduate of St. Cloud State College, will be the new music instructor in the seventh and eighth grades at Backus Junior High School.
Mrs. Roland Bahr was honored at a pink and blue shower Friday evening in the home of Mrs. John Furman, 106 13th St. W.
Lynn Louise Teufer, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Teufer, Northome, was baptized Sunday at St. Paul’s English Lutheran Church. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rusch and Mrs. Edward Barnes.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Misner of the Falls. The child weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces.
Miss Donna Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson, 516 Fifth Ave., became the bride of Robert Hodel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hodel, Frederic Hotel.
Littlefork News — Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Marklund moved Saturday into their new home which is nearing completion. The same day the Dean Parmeter family moved into the former Marklund residence and the John Kirkvold family moved into the house at the ranger station formerly occupied by the Parmeter family.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Dickson and 2-month-old daughter, Carla Marie, have arrived from Elgin, Ill., to make their home in the Falls. Temporarily they are at the home of Mrs. Dickson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barrett, 1020 Second St.
