Sebrina Bahr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Bahr III of South International Falls, will be among the candidates competing for the title of Miss Teen of Minnesota at the seventh annual State Pageant scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at St. Cloud.
Douglas P. Bigler has been promoted to the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy. Bigler is a 1981 graduate of Falls High School.

A girl was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs.Robert Michalicek.
Miss Mary Mether, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sven Mether, 1322 Ninth Ave., is a June 1 cum laude graduate of Augsburg College, Minneapolis.
Lindy Lundeen, International Falls professional bowler out of Duluth, was stationed in 16th place after 32 games of the Professional Bowlers Association $32,000 Houston Open Sunday.
The grandson of three Borderland residents is serving aboard the USS Hornet which will pick up the astronauts Thursday. He is Alan R. Caple, 21, MMFN, M Division, USS Hornet, CUS 12, the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Caple, Ericsburg; Mrs. Belinda L’Heureux, 1204 Main Ave.; and Ed Chrislock, Minot, N.D. His parents are former Falls residents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Caple, now of Melrude.

Judy Otto was a patient at the Falls Memorial Hospital recently. She had her tonsils removed.
Phyllis LaVallee, South International Falls, turned in a repeat performance to win the 1959 Koochiching County 4-H Pie Baking Championship Wednesday in Community Auditorium. She also was 1958 winner and will again compete in the Minnesota State Fair.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Laurin, Sawmill Addition, was the scene of a birthday party given in honor of Mrs. Kenneth Warren, Big Falls, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Warren is a niece of Mrs. Laurin.
A son was born today to Mr. and Mrs. William Sorenson, South International Falls, 4 pounds, 7 1/4 ounces.

Happy Hollow Community Club is sponsoring a benefit dance at 9 p.m. Friday in the club house for Pat Donahue, Golf Course Road, who recently suffered property loss by fire believed caused by lightning.
Elroy Klein, San Diego, Calif., resident who operated Roy’s Lunch on Second Avenue prior to the war, is visiting at the home his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Klein, Carson-Lupie Addition.
F.E. Patterson, Rainy Lake, entertained members of the Birthday Whist Club in observance of his birthday. Mrs. Patterson, assisted by Mrs. V.E. Crabtree and Mrs. Andrew Jespersen, served a 6:30 dinner.
J.C. Kohlhase, superintendent of schools, announced that summer work on county school buildings is being highlighted by the painting of blackboards green in the Loman schools. Kohlhase said that the green color is reported to give better legibility and is easier on the eyes than the traditional black slate.
