Specialist Four John W. Lyon, U.S. Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lyon, Sawmill Addition, recently received the Army Commendation Medal and Citation for meritorious service in Vietnam from June 1968 to June 1969.
Friends of bride-elect Miss Olive Hunter of Big Falls are holding a prenuptial shower at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the basement of the Littlefork Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Ann Robertson of the Falls Nursing Home will celebrate her 80th birthday Friday. A birthday supper will be held at the home of her grandson, Edward Hams, of Clark’s Colony.
Airman Mark S. Anderson, son of Mrs. Nina M. Anderson, Loman, has completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

City Engineer Darcy Page is leaving his position here to join a St. Paul firm of consulting and designing engineers.
Debra Marie, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Rasmussen, 426 1/2 Third St., was baptized at St. Thomas Catholic Church Sunday. Godparents were Miss Helen Foyt and Joseph Gust.
Susan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Museta, celebrated her sixth birthday Saturday with 12 friends. The afternoon included pony riding at Riverview Riding Stables.
Eugene “Gene” Williamson, the new attorney in the office of James Preece, not only is getting used to his new surroundings, but is also adjusting to the role of fatherhood. His first child, Thomas Daniel, was born in University Hospital, Minneapolis, July 23.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Clark, South International Falls, became parents of a son born this morning in Falls Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
Mrs. LaVerna Berryman, 1110 1/2 Sixth St., entertained at open house Thursday afternoon and evening in honor of her mother, Mrs. Anton Hanson, who was observing her 80th birthday anniversary. She has resided in the Falls since 1912.
Joe Doris of the Falls has enrolled for an auto course at William Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis.
Women employees of the Koochiching welfare office honored Mrs. Art Ihrig and Mrs. Arnold Kerr at a birthday party Friday. The party was conducted at the home of Mrs. William Galbraith, Point O’Pines.
