The board of directors and the 79th graduation class of St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, Duluth, announce the graduation of Miss Peggy Hillstead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillstead, 908 Third St., Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Manley, 406 Fifth St., postponed their 65th wedding anniversary celebration until this week so that their children might be present.
Edwin Schattschneider returned to the Falls Insulite plant this week in the capacity of shipping coordinator following assignments at Minneapolis and Portland, Ore.
Kathy Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sullivan, 928 Third St., has accepted the John B. Cronin Memorial Scholarship at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She will study to become a dental hygienist.

Alton B. Tolpingrud, specialist, fourth class, now stationed in Italy, is serving his fourth enlistment in the U.S. military forces. He is the son of Mrs. Ben Wolden, Loman Route.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence R. Corrigan, Emo, Ontario, announce the engagement of their oldest daughter, Ruth Margaret, to Gerald Chester Sumner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Sumner, South International Falls.
Friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. John Bergvall, Birchdale, gathered at the hall recently to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Urban, 8 pounds, 8 ounces.
60 YEARS AGO
O.O. Koski, 501 Seventh Ave., today announced that he has bought the Kozy Kabin Kort at Third Avenue and Seventh Street from Mrs. Alfreida Jornlin.
James K. Merrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Merrill of the Falls, won an honor recently for a story received for publication in “Prospects,” a literary magazine published by Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter. Merrill was commended for his story, “Crazy Anderson.”
Miss Charlotte Hess, first Falls girl to be sent to Girls State, will attend alumnae day of the organization next Sunday. She was sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary two years ago for the first Girls State in Minnesota.
Mrs. Angelo Gust and children, June, age 3, and Angelo Jr., age 10 months, 1001 Ninth St., will leave Sunday for Portland, Ore., where they will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Prozinski. They will be gone a month.
