A new funeral director has been hired at Green-Larsen Funeral Home in International Falls. John Gearhart, 24, Minneapolis, is a 1983 mortuary science graduate of the University of Minnesota.
Dean Blais was the winner of the Jacob Best Match Play Golf Tournament Sunday at the Falls Country Club. Blais had rounds of 37-38-38.

U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant David A. Grover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Grover, 1123 First Ave. W., is a member of the Aerospace Defense Command’s 28th Division that has won the General Frederic H. Smith Trophy.
Falls native Frank M. Youso, former professional football star with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and owner of Youso’s Northland Motor Court, Highway 53, has added a hostelry and dining place to his ownership, namely, Pinecrest Resort, Lake Kabetogama.
A daughter was born today to Mr. and Mrs. William Wednchuk.
Five sisters are members of Bethel 14 Job’s Daughters of the Falls. Daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Richter, Point O’Pines, they are Marcella, Patty; newly installed honored queen Renee, Norma and Michele.

Paul Shoberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shoberg of the Falls, has completed his training at Gale Institute in Minneapolis. He was learning to be a station agent and telegrapher. He graduated from Falls High School in 1948.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon, 617 11th Ave., will entertain at open house from 5 to 8 p.m. today in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary. Also celebrating an anniversary today are their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riley, nee Peggy Gordon, who exchanged nuptial vows three years ago on the Gordon’s anniversary date.
Two Falls citizens, Mrs. Catherine Lindvall and Mrs. B.F. Berryman, will depart by train tomorrow for Montreal, where they will board a plane for Stockholm, Sweden. The trip to Sweden is their first since coming to the states years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. James Christie, 711 Seventh St., were pleasantly surprised Saturday when a group of relatives gathered in their home to assist them observe their 25th wedding anniversary.
