Falls Country Club’s Oldsmobile Scramble team comprised of Mike Bolstad, Darcy Ruport, Brad Olson and Martha Karsnia won the Falls Oldsmobile Scramble Tournament recently.
The International Falls City Council recently received a retirement letter from Paul Mongrain, assistant director of building and maintenance. Mongrain’s retirement would take effect Aug. 31.

SP/4 Robert Erickson, 69th Signal Battalion (Army) Co. A., is home on leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Erickson, Island View Route. He has extended for six months service in Vietnam and reports July 6 to Oakland, Calif.
New addition to Don’s Barber Shop, 430 Third St., is Walter (Wally) E. Stanchfield, formerly of Minneapolis.
Wayne Grotberg of Littlefork is among prospective Highway Patrol Officers who will graduate on June 27 for the 20th officer candidate school of the Minnesota Highway Patrol.
Private E-2 Donovan J. Dilworth, U.S. Army, son of Mrs. James Dilworth of South International Falls and the late James Dilworth, has been appointed to the Mortuary Office Headquarters at Fort Campbell, Kent.

Rev. and Mrs. Earl Skifstad, Big Falls, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joan Helen, to Reynold Lofgren, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Lofgren, Littlefork.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Gordon, 617 11th Ave., were guests of honor at a family dinner held Wednesday evening at the Rainy Lake Lodge in observance of their 35th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. George Ruelle Sr., 720 Eighth St., will observe their golden wedding anniversary Saturday. The event is being planned by their 12 children.
Mrs. Roy Miller was honored at a stork shower Wednesday at the Ukrainian Hall.

International Falls’ newest business enterprise, Riley’s Ice Cream Parlor and Grill, will open its doors Friday morning at 343 Third street, adjoining First National Bank. Proprietor is Everett (Buck) Riley.
Adolph W. Krohn, 71, pioneer Falls businessman and former fire chief, died this morning at his residence, 324 Seventh St.
Miss Dorothy Jane Katrin’s engagement and approaching marriage to Lowell Blais, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julien Blais, Jameson Addition, was announced this week by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Katrin, 513 Ninth St.
