Marc J. Myer, Falls High School Class of 1991, who is a third-year medical student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, received the Patrick E. Gorman Scholarship.

A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sutherland.
Cadets Anthony K. Curran, 22, and Don D. Parmeter, 23, will graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point June 4.
Sue Tufvander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Tufvander, Meadowbrook, has been named 1969 Girls State representative by the Littlefork American Legion Auxiliary. The alternate delegate is Joan Bloomquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bloomquist, Littlefork.
Winning the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League were Dorothy Rostie, Wanda Linder, Norene Guerard, Marion Christenson, Alma Bigler and Sharon Lundin.

David Bateman, a junior English major at St. John’s University, has been appointed chairman of the school’s 1959 homecoming activities.
The Blue Key Honor society, an academic organization at St. Olaf college, formally accepted seven new members this week including Ronald Caple, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Caple, 306 Eighth St.
Bob Youso, older brother of New York Giants’ grid star, Frank, is reported to have accepted the football coaching job at Moose Lake.
Joe Crotty, son of Mr. and Mrs. I.P. Crotty, Seattle, Wash., is one of 180 St. John’s University seniors who will receive degrees at the school’s commencement exercise Sunday. Also receiving his bachelor of science degree in social science at the commencement exercise will be John B. Nordlum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nordlum. Another Falls man to graduate is Jerald Schultheis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Schultheis, who will receive his bachelor of arts in history.

Miss Patricia Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sig Thomas, 1124 Ninth Ave., is among the members of Concordia College choir, Moorhead, who will leave New York City Saturday on the liner Stavenerfjord for Norway.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Peterson of Ray, residents of Koochiching County since 1902, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday. They will be feted at an open house in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Breneman, 419 Seventh St., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Miss Shirley Paske, kindergarten teacher at Alexander Baker School, left today for her home in Sauk Centre. She will return here this fall to resume her teaching duties.
Dave Servis, 11, got the most “coast” out of his home-made vehicle to win first place in the coast-for-distance event of the city’s first soapbox derby this morning.
