Rachel Hendrickson, 12, daughter of Sheryl and Gene Hendrickson, will appear on the Nickelodeon network’s “Figure It Out” Wednesday afternoon because of a videotape taken of her two years ago as she participated in the cold-weather events of “Icebox Days.”
Air Force Airman Joyce A. Vacura, daughter of Ron C. and Ruth L. Vacura, has arrived for duty at Minot Air Force Base, N.D.

Nora Stensrud, formerly of the Woodland Apartments, is now a resident of Falls Nursing Home. She would enjoy hearing from and visiting with her many friends.
Julie Crow, 106 Terrace Lane, has been awarded an Academic Merit Scholarship from the College of St. Benedict for academic achievement. She is a freshman majoring in music at CSB.

Bruce Polus, 20, of Ranier, is now a member of the personnel of the First National Bank of Bovey. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Polus.
Sergeant John E. Dunahee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dunahee of 1723 Second Ave. E., has been graduated from a U.S. Air Force technical school at Sheppard AFB, Texas.
Newest members of the Senior Citizens Center are Helen Trask, Hazel Fulton, Hazel LaDu and Mrs. Henry Erickson.
Nordahl Olson, 80, retired cashier of First National Bank, “Mr. Boy Scout” in Borderland and long-time officer of Bethlehem Congregational Church, died this afternoon. He came to the Falls in May, 1922, to accept a position as teller at the bank.

International Falls has a new citizen today as the culmination of more than eight years of hard work on the part of relatives, friends and public officials. Chin Gwok Thun, 27, a resident of the British colony of Hong Kong for the past 10 years, arrived here by plane. His arrival marked a joyful reunion between father and son who had not seen each other for 22 years. He is making his home with his father and Thun will work for the men in the operation of the Sing Lee Laundry on Fourth Avenue.
Friends will honor Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Rokke on their 25th wedding anniversary at their home, 915 Second St., from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. H.T. Crotty Jr., 912 11th St., and Mrs. Jack Koch, 1111 Ninth Ave., went to Virginia today to visit Mrs. Magnus Haugland of the Falls, who is a patient in the Municipal Hospital.

60 YEARS AGO
Mrs. Roland Edwards, a bride of last Wednesday, was honored at a post-nuptial event last evening. Mando women employees entertained at a 6:30 dinner in the Green Room of the Rainy Lake Hotel, Fort Frances.
Raymond Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinholt Schultz, 821 Sixth St., left this morning for San Antonio, Texas, for preliminary training in the air corps. Schultz, 19 years old, enlisted for air corp service a week ago.
A long journey home for one of Koochiching County’s war dead ended this week with the arrival of the remains of Pfc. Clarence Leen in the United States from Italy aboard the U.S. transport Lawrence Victory. Private Lee, son of Mrs. Currina Seter, was killed in action in Italy Sept. 25, 1945.
Arnie Potek, son of Dr. and Mrs. D.M. Potek, observed his fourth birthday Thursday afternoon, when his mother entertained several of his friends who assisted him celebrate the occasion.
