An entertaining storyteller Norman Selsaas has gathered his memories in a book entitled appropriately enough “My Life Experiences at Kettle Falls and the Kabetogama Peninsula.” There will be a book signing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Koochiching Museums in International Falls.

Paul Reuter, president of the Koochiching County unit of the American Cancer Society, was recently honored by receiving a plaque from members of the local unit, upon which their names were engraved.
Margaret L. Ewald, the Falls, attended the H & R Block Satellite Owners’ Convention recently in St. Paul.
40 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown, Truman Molda and Mrs. Ella Jensen were Friday dinner guests of Mrs. Alice Marble in the Falls. Mrs. Florence Pries was also a guest.
Falls High School juniors earning letters for the 1969 football season were Todd Mongrain, Mike Soboleski, Robin Johnson, Jeff Lindvall, Robin Foss and John Engelking.
The ground-breaking ceremonies for the five-building campus of Rainy River State Junior College will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Judge J.J. Hadler will be the only major speaker during the indoor ceremonies in the high school cafeteria. He and Mrs. Mabel Linsten, the wife of his former partner, made the largest single civic gift in the Falls’ history in 1964 — the 77-acre site.
50 YEARS AGO
Bruce Gawtry, Thomas Baker and Susan Eisenach, seniors at Falls High School, have been cited for outstanding performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Terry L’Heureux, Tom Kuryla, Robert Rousseau, John Veranth, Terry Shewchuk, Dale Johnson and Pat Soboleski of Den 4, Pack 152, recently advanced to the Boy Scouts.
