Elnora Hotaling and Herb Sutherland, both of West Falls Estates, were married at Zion Lutheran Church recently. The Rev. Gary Boen performed the double-ring ceremony.
Jeffrey Michael Butts, 17, enlisted into the U.S. Navy’s Delayed Entry Program recently at Minneapolis.

40 YEARS AGO
Cheering the Rainy River Community College Voyageurs on this year will be cheerleaders Nancy Glowack, Nancy Brown, Janet Ficke, Kathie Severt, Debbie Edberg and Carol Gooler.
Leading the Broncos in cheering this football season were Anne Walter, Cindy Holland, Sherrin Crandall, Jill Pavleck, Maxine Lagerstrom, Toni Thomas, Priscilla Austin and Marilyn Johnson.
An open house for Mrs. Tecla Holmquist and her twin brother, Gust Dahlstrom, Littlefork, on the occasion of their 80th birthday will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in Mrs. Holmquist's home, 722 Ninth St., Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gilbertson and son, Ronald, 913 Seventh St., and Mrs. Bennie Beck and Mrs. Frank Domish drove to Grand Forks, N.D., Saturday to see the University of North Dakota play, “The Skin of Our Teeth,” by Thornton Wilder. Jack Gilbertson had the lead role as Mr. Antrobus.

Recruit-1 Vern Berglin, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Uitto, 1419 First Ave. W., left for military service on the Saturday bus for Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Van H. Day, aviation electrician’s mate airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Holt of 1204 First Ave. E., serving with the Patrol Squadron Nine, is taking part in a large fleet training exercise off the coast of southern California involving units of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
A veteran New York Life Insurance Company agent at the Border City was honored at a dinner meeting at the Parkway Restaurant. Martin Molstre, agent with the company for 30 years, was cited for his service record by agents from Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Chisholm, Duluth and Superior.
A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Little, 7 pounds, 4 1/4 ounces.

60 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Graves, Island View Route, are parents of a daughter born this morning in Falls Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces.
Mrs. Albert Knapp was feted at a stork shower in the home of Mrs. Emil Kantor, 921 10th St. Mrs. Hugh Whitbeck was assisting hostess.
Due to the death of Mrs. Ora Hazen, Helen’s Beauty Shop in the Shapiro building will be closed until Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Neeval and sons, Paul and David, were feted at a farewell party Sunday evening in Zion Lutheran Church by members of the church choir. The Neeval family, who have resided in the Falls seven years, will leave this week to make their home at Baldwin, Wisc. Mr. Neeval, who has been employed in the research department of Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company, plans to go into business there.
