The International Falls Lions Club recently celebrated 45 years since being chartered. The first president was Don Enzmann who now lives in Georgia. Two charter members still remain active in the club. Honored were Dan Kroeten and Raymond Nelson.

New members of the Ray Happy Workers 4-H Club are Timmy Tomczak, Julie Otto and Melanie Thorpe.
James Nelson, who is a student at the University of Minnesota at Duluth and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nelson, is a patient in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth with severe injuries suffered in a car accident near that city Saturday evening.
The ceremony of initiation was recently held for Job’s Daughters Kathy Lou Arason, Margaret Kirk, Jacqueline Weber, Debora Ellison, Jayme Dilworth and Ronda Peterson.
New officers of the Papermakers Colony 4-H Club are Al Johnson, president; Kathy Kennedy, vice president; Cindy Wagner, secretary; Susan Svir, treasurer; and reporter, Maureen Donahue.

Mrs. Martha Givens, Island View Route, left recently for Plummer, where she will spend the winter months at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Peterson, and family.
Mary Carlson, 12, and her bicycle-riding parakeet will be present tonight at the Family Night program at the Falls Public Library. Tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. she will be showing the children and their parents how “Petey” can remove the stem from a watch, pick up objects and other unpredictable feats.
Harvey G. Long, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Long Sr., Papermakers Colony, left by train a week ago for Ft. Hood, Texas. He recently enlisted for a three-year term with the United States Army.
Miss Virginia Hoff, graduate of the two-year course for dental hygenists at the University of Minnesota, began her work on Monday in the offices of Dr. Erle Thompson and John Menefee.

Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Selsaas, 505 Sixth St., Falls residents since 1912, were feted at a surprise anniversary party at their home. It was the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary and Mrs. Selsaas’ birthday.
Miss Edna Wento of Ray, who has been employed two years by Louis Beauty Shop, left this morning for Snoqualmie Falls, Wash/, where she will spend an indefinite visit with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Veiko Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dahl, nee Dolores Geer, returned last night from a honeymoon trip to Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Dahl are residing at Gateway Apartments.
