Henry Macedon has retired from Boise Cascade after 32 years’ service with the company. Macedon was a line operator with the Process Center.
After four decades of service, Charles Bergstedt has retired from Boise Cascade. Bergstedt spent his entire career in the Yard Services Department.

Bronco varsity girls’ cross country members Jill Kantos, Amy Erickson, Cari Rostie, Carol Kuttes, Karina Aili, Ann Erickson, Brenda Ellsworth and Karis Wangberg were a happy bunch after winning the Hial Pike Invitational at the Falls Country Club Thursday. It was the first time in six years that a team other than Hibbing captured the meet.
Joyce Ann Sullivan, daughter of Gary and Marcia Sullivan of the Falls, has accepted a Boise Cascade Scholarship. She plans to major in chemical engineering of polymers and coatings.
40 YEARS AGO
Burton Helleloid recently enrolled in a freshman class of 380 students at Carleton College, Northfield.
Borderland students who have enrolled as freshmen at Augsburg College in Minneapolis include Wendy Gerlach, Janice Weum, Linda Carlson and Duane Foss.
Duane R. Cook, former Falls resident, has purchased the Jensen Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Rushford. A 1959 graduate of Falls High School, he attended the University of Minnesota College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1962.
Edwin Grandell, Ernie Arnold, Mrs. Charles Barby and Mrs. Jens Frederiksen have become members of the Senior Citizens Center.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Watkins, Ericsburg, 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Roberta Louise Lucca, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tranquillo Lucca, celebrated her seventh birthday at a Halloween party on Sunday afternoon at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Helmer, Loman, who have resided on their homestead all the years of their married life, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Saturday evening at a 6 o’clock dinner at the Parkway Cafe.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mathews Sr. celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last evening with dinner at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson, 1011 11th St.

Mr. and Mrs. David Engelking are parents of a son born Oct. 11 in Falls Memorial Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces.
The bodies of two Ray hunters, William Wolfe, 27, and his brother Gene, 19, were recovered today from the waters of the Rat Root River.
Mr. and Mrs. John Skalsky, the Falls, are parents of a daughter born today in Falls Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burbas, Burbas Apartments, are parents of a son born Oct. 11 in Falls Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
