John Kyryluk finally has the time to do all the bow and arrow hunting he wants, now that he is retired from Boise Cascade’s Paper Division.
Dirk Houglum, a St. Thomas School student, recently won a new 10-speed bike by bringing in more than $300 in paid pledges for non-public education.

Leofwin Lindblom, 28, joined the Paper Division of Boise Cascade Oct. 10 as a process engineer on the staff of Ronald B. Johnson, technical superintendent. Lindblom, his wife, Ruth, and young son, Steven, are residing at 800 10th St.
A baby shower honoring Mrs. Steven Matthews and infant daughter, Stephanie, was held at the Fred Grover home.
Falls High School Class of 1965 has memorialized six of its deceased, male members with a scholarship to Falls Citizens Scholarship Foundation, Inc. Memorialized are Antone Proszek, Ricard Bunnis, William DeBoer, Earl Deneen and Woodrow Ewald Jr., who died in Vietnam, and Joseph Tomczak, combat veteran who drowned in Ranier Rapids May 6.
Sale of Riverside Trailer Court and Cabin Court in the Falls to Dr. Andrew R. Benassi of Babbitt was announced today by Angus Lindquist and Mrs. Alfred Boe, operators of the business for the past 15 years.

Gus’ chair at the Chicago Cafe is once more in use by its namesake because Gus Gustafsson is back from his six-month visit to Sweden, the land of his birth. This was his first return to the land he left as an 18-year-old for the retired Mando paymaster.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nash, Island View Route, 8 pounds, 10 ounces.
Mrs. John Caple, Ericsburg, was guest of honor at a pink and blue shower. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Douglas Frick, Mrs. Lloyd Morrison and Mrs. Norman Selsaas.
Mrs. Geno Lucca, 1109 Seventh Ave., was guest of honor at a baby shower at the home of Mrs. Livio Lucca, 1118 10th St.

William Joseph Toninato, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Toninato, 1000 10th Ave., was entertained at a birthday party in the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Reno Toninato, 1001 10th St. It was the occasion of his third birthday.
Ed Lynch, formerly assistant manager of Stevenson’s at Winona, has been promoted to managership of the firm’s International Falls store. He succeeded Carl W. Morke who was transferred to St. Cloud.
Polio fund solicitors needed no sales talk in the case of Jerry Nelson, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nelson, Vets Village. When they called at his house, the youngster ran to get his special “polio bank” and cheerfully parted with the 66 cents it contained. The reason for Jerry’s generosity is that he was stricken with the disease himself during the 1946 epidemic, and has completely recovered.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bacon, South International Falls, are parents of a son born today in Falls Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.
