The Dolphins defeated the 49ers 6-0 in the playoff championship of the Falls fifth and sixth-grade football league. Team members are Cory Nordstrand, Jacob Larson, Jeff Lane, Garrett LaFrance, Tyler Reinke, Mike Miller, Brian Bird, Chris Klemetsen, Josh Smuda, Marvin Gorden, Mike Wilson, Rory Hendrickson, Reggie Gelo, Ty Boyle, Ryan Christie and Coaches Joe Boyle and Roland Larson.
Bronco cross-country coach Paul Hjelle continues to marvel at his top runner, sophomore Loni Kallerman. Kallerman sprinted to a lead early in the 4,000-meter Class A girls’ race and was never seriously threatened after that. She finished first in the 151-runner field, winning the Section 7A individual title in 15 minutes, 8 seconds.

A sixth candidate has entered the Island View City Council race via a write-in campaign. Stan Wyman, owner of Thunderbird Lodge, said his primary objective is to retain Island View’s status as a city.

The After-Five Club met at the home of Mrs. Larry VanSchoiack, Riverside Park, for their annual Halloween party. Co-hostess was Mrs. John Klow.
The U.S. Army Reserve will build a $380,000 training center and armory in South International Falls next summer, Capt. Donald Carey announced.
Mrs. Grace Skibinski, a longtime aide at Northland Day Activity Center, is leaving her position Nov. 1.
Falls High School students Kathy Kirk, Bill Niemi, Dixie Frick, Cynthia Holland and Ellen Wallen will be among the high school musicians from 15 area schools attending the ninth annual string clinic at University of Minnesota, Duluth, tomorrow.
50 YEARS AGO
Alderman and Mrs. Howard Elliott, 910 Seventh St., announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Darlene, to Clarence Olson, International Falls, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Olson, Margie.
Sharon Frederickson, Jameson Addition, lost her enthusiasm for pheasant hunting over the weekend — and for good reason Sharon was struck in the back by a careless hunter’s shot. She was fortunate in wearing a heavy jacket which prevented the pellets from entering her body.
Fairland’s last remaining dwelling will be moved by the owner, Ed Sandsmark, to Birchdale. Friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Sandsmark, Fairland, gathered at their home Saturday evening for an informal farewell party. Mrs. Sandsmark will operate the telephone switchboard there.
Former Falls Bronco Tony Price is fifth in total offense among individuals in small college football, according to figures released by the NCAA service bureau. Price has 927 yards in six games.

Randy Borden, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Borden, 1223 Third Ave., submitted to a tonsillectomy Saturday at Littlefork Hospital.
Dianne Clarity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clarity, 1022 Ninth St., entertained 15 of her playmates Sunday evening at a Halloween party. Games were played with prizes awarded to Mary Jean Makidon, Robert Laurion and Judy Reader.
