25 YEARS AGO
Mike Forsythe and Lisa Lucca were crowned Falls Senior High School Homecoming King and Queen. Junior class honors went to Andy Waldbillig and Tammy Harmening. James Rischar and Anne Howes represented the sophomore class and Klaus Schumacher and Jody Wenberg the freshmen.
On Sept. 30 friends and relatives gathered at the home of Donald and Connie Jensen to help Gregg and Nora Tweeter celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

40 YEARS AGO
Charles A. Lindbergh, Minnesota’s famed “lone eagle” who was the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, came to International Falls Saturday and enjoyed the thrill of flying over the Rainy-Kabetogama-Namakan lake region. Lindbergh was in town for the purpose of viewing the site of the proposed national park.
Bronco homecoming royalty were crowned Friday afternoon. They are: John Prettyman and Martha Enzmann, junior class king and queen; Lyle Gookins and Sherren Crandall, senior class king and queen; and Janet Phair and David Hanson, sophomore class king and queen.
Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Gauthier of South International Falls announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda, to Delbert Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hanson, Old Highway 11.
After nearly 29 years of service, Mrs. Marie Dobbs retired from her duties at the Littlefork Post Office Sept. 30.

50 YEARS AGO
Mrs. J. Krause Jr., Loman Route, was guest of honor at a pink and blue shower at her home. Lunch was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Vernon Krause, Mrs. Dave Servis and Mrs. Earl Misner.
M.J. Stone, 50, formerly stores supervisor for the Falls division of the Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company, has been appointed stores manager, according to an announcement by F.E. Boeckh, assistant general manager. He succeeds the late A.C. “Click” Hanson.
A bridal shower was given in honor of Sue Pearson Sept. 29 at the home of Mrs. Marjorie Pearson, Highway 53. Hostesses were Mrs. William Chowan, Mrs. Donald Chowan, Mrs. Roy Jones, Mrs. William Hageman, Miss Jeannine Clarity and Miss Georgeanne Pearson.
The Chef's Pizza House, 210 Second Ave., opened for business late last week providing the Falls with another eating place catering to patrons savoring Italian foods. Co-partners in the business are Orson Sharpe, 220 Second Ave., and Darold W. Bounds, 1302 First Ave. E.

60 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Christianson, Ericsburg, are parents of a daughter born today in Falls Memorial Hospital. The infant weighed 8 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Malone, South International Falls, are parents of a daughter born Oct. 4 in Falls Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 7 1/4 ounces.
The Co-op food store is now doing business at its new location on Highway 53 in South International Falls. The establishment moved from its old quarters at 308 Fourth St. to the building which was last occupied by the Country Kitchen restaurant. Everett Gay is manager of the store.
Falls High Homecoming king and queen are Steve Leolich and Rosemary Sullivan. Placing the crowns on the heads of the two students was Darlene Gaines, secretary of the school pep squad, and Leo Toninato, Bronco grid captain.
