Airman Tammie L. Ford, daughter of William H. and Linda M. Ford of Littlefork, has been assigned to Lowry Air Force Base, Colo., after completing Air Force basic training.
Terry Thompson and Tom VanSchoiack recently caught a 36-pound muskie on Rainy Lake. The two were fishing for walleyes when the fish struck Thompson’s white jig and minnow on a 10-pound test. The two were without a net and finally managed to land the fish by hand after nine attempts.

A son was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ness.
Tastee Freez, the nation’s 19th largest fast-type food server, will open an outlet in the Falls on the corner of Third Street and Sixth Avenue in 60 to 90 days. Tony Piekarski and Son, sub-contractors, were pouring the foundation today.
Richard O. Holmestad, operator of West End Apco in the Falls, has been appointed representative of EZ Haul, Inc., a one-way truck and trailer rental system and a new subsidiary of National Car Rental System, Inc.
International Falls cross-country team successfully defeated its title Saturday at the 13th Annual Bemidji State College Cross-Country Invitational. Individual honors went to Wayne Carrier who finished in first place, touring the newly revised 2-1/2 mile course in 13 minutes, 21 seconds, for a new course record.

John Pihulak, South International Falls, has returned to the Falls to make arrangements to move his family on Wednesday to Portland, Ore., where he is employed.
Richard Constantine, George Smith, Conrad Larson and James Kalstad were enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve Tuesday night at formal military ceremonies in the Reserve training center.
A group of 30 relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mrs. John Molodek, 1100 Seventh Ave., to honor Mrs. Nick Kostiuk at a pink and blue shower.
Karin Mether, a sophomore art education and commercial art major at Gustavus Adolphus college, St. Peter, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 1958-59 academic year.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Flaa, 619 Second St., are parents of a son born today in Falls Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 1/2 ounces. The Flaas also are parents of a daughter, Janet.
Charles Kuttes has improved his property by residing and painting the “Y” Inn.
Miss Victoria Clauson, junior at Concordia College, Moorhead, has been chosen co-editor of the literary society department of the annual yearbooks.
