International Falls Police Department
Theft: Dennis A. Kennedy, 1731 First Ave. W., reported Thursday that his garage had been entered and a four-wheeler, valued at $1,500, was taken.
Hit and run: Katy M. Hudkins reported Thursday that her vehicle was struck in the K-Mart parking lot, 1606 Highway 11.
Criminal damage: A vehicle owned by Kelsey A. Wingate was damaged at the intersection of Main Avenue and 13th Street Thursday. Damage was done to the front windshield and the side of the vehicle had been spray painted. The damage is estimated at more than $1,000.
Theft: Thomas R. McGuire, 1920 Second Ave. E., reported Friday that a motor and tackle box was taken from his vehicle, located at 1012 Ninth St.

Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office
Burglary: Corey J. Nicholson, 2949 County Road 2 N., reported Saturday that forced entry had been made at his residence. Nothing was reported taken.
Hit and run: Alice L. Johnson, Bemidji, reported Saturday that her vehicle had been struck while it was parked on Highway 71 in Gemmel.
Hit and run: Ryan A. Houglum reported Saturday that his vehicle had been struck while it was parked at Sha~Sha Resort, 1664 Highway 11 East.
Burglary: Edward W. Fisher reported Monday that forced entry had been made in his store, located at 12227 Main St., Northome. He reported that 10 packs of cigarettes, valued at $100, had been taken.
Ontario Provincial Police
Fatalities: Four people died on roads over the Canada Day weekend. Three died in marine incidents and one person was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash. In addition, OPP officers charged 181 motorists with going more than 50 kilometers over the posted speed limit.
Province-wide, between 6 a.m. June 27 and midnight July 1, the OPP laid 6,562 speeding charges, 696 seatbelt charges, 146 charges for impaired driving and handed out 172 12-hour suspensions. On the water, officers laid 113 charges.
In the North West Region, the OPP laid 376 speeding charges, 102 seatbelt charges, four charges for impaired driving and handed out four 12-hour suspensions. On the water, officers laid one charge.
