As the horn sounded to conclude International Falls’ 16-0 rout of Eveleth-Gilbert at Bronco Arena, the Broncos had pulled a sweep of Tuesday’s sporting events.
The boys basketball team topped Eveleth-Gilbert in its season opener, the girls hockey team beat Fort Frances for the second time in a week and the boys hockey team had no problems with the inferior Golden Bears, who fall to 1-1 after defeating Wadena-Deer Creek in their opener.
Thirteen Broncos tallied at least one point against Eveleth-Gilbert and four players scored their first career goal on varsity.
The Broncos (2-1) outshot the Golden Bears 54-8.
Willie Corrin led the scoring with seven points (G, 6A), while the first line cleaned up with Jordan Christianson (4G, 2A), Michael Bounds (3G, 3A) and Jon McDonald (5A).
Chris Little finished with three points (G, 2A) and Brett Musich (G, A), Alex Bruess (G, A), Brett Lucek (2A) and Matt Youso (2G) had two points. Musich, Bruess, Dominic Casareto and Ryan Tomevi all tallied their first career goal. Dylan Farmer also added a goal.
