International Falls lost to Warroad 132-51 Thursday at the Falls Natatorium.
The Broncos failed to grab a top finish, but notched six runner-up finishes.
The four individuals were Tamera Stouffer in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 48.14 seconds), Rachel Adams in the 50 freestyle (29.31), Morgan Bruess in the 100 backstroke (1:14.90) and Paige Herzig in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.04). The two relays to finish second were Bruess, Herzig, Stouffer and Adams in the 200 medley (2:12.63) and Adams, Dorothy Johnson, Stouffer and Herzig in the 200 freestyle (1:59.73).
The Broncos’ other notable performances were by Keanna Carlson, Taylar Nelson and Kari Arnold. Carlson finished third behind two impressive Warroad divers with a personal-best 130.05 points, while Nelson tallied a personal best in the 100 freestyle, finishing third in 1:09.31. Arnold, an eighth-grader, swam in the varsity 500 freestyle for the first time and finished third out of four in 7:12.93.
Sara Lindberg (family reasons) and Erika Mitchell (injury), the Falls’ top two swimmers, missed the meet.
The Broncos’ junior varsity team also fell to the Warriors, losing 99-46.
FHS returns to action Saturday in a meet at Duluth East.
