Kimberly Suzanne Simon, daughter of James and Susan Simon, Lakeville, and Shawn Michael Carney, son of Michael and Lori Carney, International Falls, were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007. The ceremony was conducted at the Berean Baptist Church, Lakeville, with Pastor Steve Eriksson of Scottsdale Bible Church, Phoenix, Ariz., officiating.
The bride appeared in a white tulle A-line gown with beaded lace appliqués and a draped pick-up skirt designed by Monique Luo.
Serving as maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Julianna Simon. Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Emily Krikbride. Bridesmaid was Amy Druvenga, cousin of the groom.
Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Justin Carney. Groomsmen were Chris Kawa, friend of the groom, and Matthew Simon, brother of the bride.
Greeters were Alicia Johnston and Erika Potter, friends of the bride. Carly Grothe, friend of the bride, read scripture. Musicians were Kathy Rosenbush and Ben Rosenbush, who performed a song written for the bride and groom by James Norris, friend of the couple.
The eve of the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Officer’s Club at Fort Snelling. Following the wedding ceremony, an appetizer reception was held at the church with a cheesecake wedding cake made by Melissa Ruelle, Beth Nelson, and the mother of the groom.
After a honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, the couple returned home to Phoenix.
