Christina Marie York, daughter of Bill and Rosemarie York (Liedke), Fort Frances, Ontario, and Derek John Dowty, son of Kevin and Shelby Dowty, International Falls, were united in marriage Saturday, June 23, 2007. The ceremony was conducted at Holiday Inn Gardens, International Falls, with Pastor Kyle Gunderson of Evangelical Covenant Church officiating.
The bride appeared in a strapless diamond white organza overlaying chiffon gown with crystal diamond accents throughout the bodice and train. The classic A-line gown, created by Maggie Sottero, was accented by a teardrop diamond white gold necklace and diamond earrings.
The bride carried a seasonal bouquet of Stargazer Lilies, mixed with assorted pink astromeria, white stephanotis and baby yellow roses.
Serving as matron of honor was the bride’s best friend, Rebekah Woolsey. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Amanda Ward, Rachel Hebert, Vanessa Bannert and Ashley Whalen. The attendants wore buttercup yellow gowns and carried a bouquet of Astromerias and baby yellow roses.
The bride’s personal attendants were Stephanie Gaouette and Amanda Rogoza, friends of the bride.
Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Geoff Dowty. Groomsmen were Luke Zika, Chad Nevalainen, Bill Dunbar and Mike Skifstad, friends of the groom. Ushers were Brian and David York, brothers of the bride, and Brian Trask, Armand Paulbeck and Ryan Anderson, friends of the groom. They were attired in black tuxedos and reversible camo vests.
Ring bearers attired in black tuxedos and camo vests were Paul Harder and Elijah Reid, friends of the bride and groom. Serving as flower girls were Tessah Labbe and Bailey Herberg. nce Brokers as an insurance broker/underwriter.
