Delores Joanne Kittelson, of International Falls, Minn., passed away at her home in the Falls on Monday, July 28, 2008. She was 75 years of age.
Born to Harry and Esther (McDougall) Rolfe on June 22, 1933, in Red Lake, Minn., she moved to International Falls in 1941.
She graduated from Falls High School, Class of 1951.
Delores was united in marriage to Howard T. Kittelson in 1953.
She worked as a supervisor for Rig Jig for over 25 years until her retirement in 1994.
In her spare time she spun wool, enjoyed doll making, craft work of all kinds, crocheting, family picnics and spending time with family. She loved to garden and be outdoors; she spent many hours taking care of her yard, her animals and her dog.
She enjoyed going to lunch at Barney’s with her classmates of “51” and was a member of the Falls High School Alumni and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents, Harry and Esther Rolfe; mother- and father-in-law, Conrad and Florence Kittelson; brothers, James, Thomas and Everett; and her sister, Viola Rolfe.
Delores is survived by her sons, Brian (Deborah) Kittelson and Bruce (JoAnne) Kittelson, both of International Falls, Minn.; daughter, Lisa (Ronald) Conat of International Falls, Minn.; 12 grandchildren — Adam (Kelly) Kittelson, Andy (JoJean) Kittelson, Nick (Deanna) Kittelson, Ryan (Kristin) Kittelson, Jed, Quintin, Hannah and Howard Kittelson, Carissa Walkup, Zachary (Rae Anne) Conat, Dickie-Bird Conat and Bruce Conat; 11 great-grandchildren — Kristen, Rylee, Julian, Dylan, Jenaya, Kalan, Alayna, Isabella, Evie, Lola and Sylvia; brother, Peter (Barbara) Rolfe of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Irene Klippness of Hayward, Calif., and Lorraine Kantor of International Falls, Minn.; and brothers- and sisters-in-law — Tootsie Baron, Hilda Major, Delbert and Arlys Kittelson, Madge Baron, Sophie Cyr, Phyllis and Walt Klay, Melvin and May Kittelson, Betty and Bob Hull, Trevor Kittelson, Marylyn Wednchuk and Carolyn and Ed Taylor; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, “Honey Bear.”
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, July 31, at Green-Larsen Mortuary.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Interment will be in the American Legion section of Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls. Minn.
Memorials are preferred to the Borderland Humane Society in memory of Delores.
