So I just wanted to mention how petty adults are becoming in this town. Here it is: my 14 year old daughter applied for a job at a local restaurant in town yesterday. Today she had an interview at that job and two hours later she had gotten the phone call of her life-her first job starting Monday!!! Yahoo!!!
Somewhere between one o clock pm and five thirty the same day the manager called me and let me know that another teenager that works there has a "familial strained relationship" with my daughter. She went on to say that she could not offer her employment because of it. (The familial strained relationship is that we are a blended step family). My daughter already bought some new work shoes for the training on Monday. Now what I don't understand is this restaurant is open 18 hours a day, seven days a week. They can't work seperate shifts? Or even different days? What was said to change the manager's mind? Is it legal to listen to slander and take back someone's employment? I have contacted human resources. It is not going away.
My point is what are we teaching these teenagers? Cope with life and deal with diverse situations? Or say some things about someone and wreck their chances for employment?
I am going to let so many people know about this-you have lost business local restaurant. Everyone is going to know.
