Dementia caregivers
The dementia caregivers support group will not meet Thursday.

Elks Meal
The Elks Lodge Wednesday Meal will be Marinated Chicken Breasts served at 6:30 p.m. Call early for reservations at 283-3440.

Men’s breakfast
St. Paul Lutheran Church men will gather for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Class of 1937
Falls High School Class of 1937 will gather at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 19th Hole Restaurant.

Public open house
Rainy River Community College will host a Public Open House from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Free cookies and coffee will be served. Everyone is welcome.

Casino bus
Koochiching County Senior Center will sponsor a bus to Fortune Bay Casino Aug. 18. Cost is $14. For information, contact the center at 283-3460 or Barb, 285-3663.

Diabetes association
The Rainy River Chapter of the American Diabetes Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, 123 Wayside Lane. Featured will be updated information on the Diabetes Expo, Diabetes & Comfort Shoe visit to International Falls, and the Diabetes Education Program at the Duluth Clinic-International Falls.

After Loss group
The After Loss group will meet Tuesday in back of City Drug to car pool to Sha~Sha Resort for a 5:30 p.m. supper.

Garden club
Koochiching Men’s Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant. Host will be Rod Otterness.

Basketball Boosters
Bronco Basketball Boosters will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Falls High School, Cooking Room 130.

Car club
The International Early Iron Car Club will meet Tuesday. New members are welcome. Call Leon at 283-9773 or Sandy, 807-274-2345, for more information.
Class of 1963
Falls High School Class of 1963 will gather for an 11 a.m. luncheon Wednesday at the Holiday Inn.

Bible school
Evangelical Covenant Church will host Vacation Bible School, “The Amazon Expedition: The Ultimate Trek Through Time,” today through Friday. Those ages 4 years through entering the sixth grade are encouraged to gather their gear, lace up their hiking boots and head to the church at 1631 First Ave. E. for suppers at 5 p.m., with VBS following from 5:30 to 8. Call 283-3365 for transportation.

‘Celebrate Recovery’
We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. As a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up or habit. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based, 12-step program and the group meets every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church. Everyone is welcome.

Phone recycling
Borderland Humane Society is currently participating in a cell phone recycling program. By recycling old cell phones, the humane society can receive money for the old phones, with all proceeds going to BHS. The community is urged to help by donating phones to help animals in need. Phones may be dropped off at The Daily Journal, Radio Shack or K-104/KGHS Radio Station. Anyone with questions may call 218-324-2313.

The Lamplighters
The Lamplighters, an on-going women’s support group for survivors of incest and/or childhood sexual abuse, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Sunrise Center Against Sexual Abuse, 203 Third St. Facilitator is Pam Bechik, MA in Psychology. A light meal will be provided by Domino’s Pizza prior to each group meeting. Pre-register by calling 283-9334.

Open horseshoes
Men, women and teenagers are welcome to play open horseshoes from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Kerry Park. No experience is necessary.

Moose lodge supper
A perogies and meatballs supper will be served at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Moose Lodge.
Red Cross board
The American Red Cross Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 309 Third St.

Hospital retirees
Falls Memorial Hospital retirees will gather for breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Class of 1951
Falls High School Class of 1951 will meet for coffee at 9 a.m. Thursday at Barney’s Family Restaurant. Class members are urged to attend. Spouses are also welcome.

Class of 1988 reunion
Falls High School Class of 1988 will gather for their 20-year reunion at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Sha~Sha Resort. For more information, call Jennifer Wenberg at 285-3624.

Concert in the Park
The Wednesday Concert in Smokey Bear Park will feature the International Falls and Fort Frances “String Group” beginning at 7 p.m. in the Pete Peterson Band Shell. The group is under the direction of John Faith. Story hour with International Falls Public Library Librarian Diane Adams begins at 6. The public is welcome to attend.

Legislative Day
The Minnesota Senior Federation - North Star Regional Forum, is having Legislative Day Friday, hosted by the Hibbing Community Seniors. Location will be at the Senior Center at the Hibbing Community Center (Memorial Building) at 400 23rd St., Hibbing. The board will meet at 10 a.m. with the afternoon session beginning at 12:30 with the Legislators forum to begin at 1. No lunch will be served. Those in attendance for 11:30 a.m. are asked to provide their own bag lunch. Call the office at 218-749-2912, ext. 202 or 800-662-5711, ext. 202, if planning to attend.

Airport commission
The International Falls-Koochiching County Airport Commission will conduct a special meting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the offices of Einarson Flying Service Inc., located at Falls International Airport, for the following purposes: Discussion and possible action regarding the purchase of a a piece of real property owned by Barb Johnson; payment of several expenses; and discussion of 2008 capital improvement project issues.
