Marion S. Watt, 89, passed away peacefully July 4, 2008, in Esko, Minn.
Marion was born Oct. 30, 1918, to Carl and Irtie Watt in Ray, Minn., where she spent her childhood growing up with five brothers and two sisters.
After graduating from International Falls High School, she worked as a switchboard operator then moved to Duluth to attend beauty school.
She served in World War II, then worked as a secretary, retiring in 1980.
Marion was a kind, caring and giving person who loved to garden, travel, cross country ski, knit and crotchet. She shared her interest as a member of the Oregon Creek Garden Club, traveling with family and friends, and was a founding member of Duluth Ski Touring Club.
Marion found great joy spending time with family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and mother-in-law who was especially generous with her time and willingness to help others.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Claude, Neil, and Addy Watt.
Marion is survived by her son, Adrian (Sue) Watt; granddaughter, Bryana Watt; grandson, Andre Watt; sisters, Vivian Boyum, Donna (Harlen) Breneman; brothers, Earl (Marion) Watt, Roy (Barbara) Watt; and many nieces and nephews.
Marion’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Coleta and the staff at Plainview Estates for the kind and compassionate care.
Gathering of family and friends will be at noon Sunday, Aug. 17, at Adrian and Sue Watt’s home.
