Can donations

The Bronco Volleyball Booster Club reminds the public to donate their aluminum cans to support Bronco Volleyball. The aluminum can drop-off trailer is located in the Dairy Queen parking lot. 

Garden club

Koochiching Men’s Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of John Patterson, 1832 Third Ave. E. 

Turkey breast dinner 

The Littlefork VFW will serve a turkey breast dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. The public is welcome to attend. 

Donations needed 

KOOTASCA Community Action Inc. is in need of new or gently used beds, dressers, dining room chairs, couches or love seats, towels, pots/pans, silverware, and drinking glasses. Anyone who would like to donate these items to a family KOOTASCA is working with, contact Amy Mortenson or Sharon Frank at 283-9491. It is asked that transportation of items is also provided by the donor. 

ATV Club

The Koochiching Off Road Enthusiasts (KORE) ATV Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rumors Up North. Interested ATV enthusiasts are encouraged to attend.

Car wash

The Bronco boys baseball team will conduct a car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Waschke Family GM Center, Highway 53. 

Degree of Honor 

Degree of Honor will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Backus Community Center, Room 110.
Elementary sign-ups
Elementary football and volleyball sign-ups are scheduled for the following times and dates:

•Football — boys, grades 5-6, 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Bronco Arena lobby, $45 cost includes T-shirt; 

•Volleyball — girls, grades 3-6, 3:30 p.m., Sept. 5, Falls Elementary School gymnasium, $45 cost includes T-shirt. 

For more information, contact the recreation office at 283-2571, ext. 138. Coaches are needed for these activities. Those interested may sign-up at registration or call the rec office. 

Class of 1963

Falls High School Class of 1963 will gather for lunch at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn. 

Open swimming 

Open swimming will be from 6:30 to 8 a.m. for adults Monday through Friday at the Falls High School Pool through August. There will also be open swimming for children and families Monday through Friday each day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pool through the month of August. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Swim tickets (10 punches/$10 or 20 punches/$20) may be purchased in the Community Education Office. 

Kabetogama AA 

An AA meeting is planned for 7:30 p.m. Saturdays downstairs at the Kabetogama Methodist Church. Call 218-875-3048 for more information. 

Workout swims 

Community Education will offer Open Workout Swims from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays (with the exception of “no school days.”) Pool time is for adults to swim laps. The 10- or 20-punch swim tickets may be purchased in the Community Education Office from 8:30 to 4 Monday through Friday. Current Falls High School swim team members may attend the workouts at no charge. No pre-registration is required. 

Elks meal 

The Elks Lodge Wednesday Meal will be marinated pork loin served at 6:30 p.m. Call early for reservations at 283-3440.
After Loss Group
The After Loss Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grandma’s Pantry, Ranier.
Horseshoe tourney
The Miller Fall Fling Horseshoe Tourney is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Kerry Park. Entry fee is $5. Must be 18 or older to enter. Number of entrants will determine round robin or elimination brackets. For more information, call Tim at 283-4940.
