Reunion newsletter
Falls High School Alumni Newspaper No. 52 is due out soon. The post reunion newsletter, after this summer’s gatherings and the last issue for 2008,  is due off the press between Sept. 25-30. Any family news, original writing, upcoming group events, etc. classmates wish to share or any Summer 2009 Gatherings classes wish to start publicizing should be turned in no later than Sept. 22. New address? Those who would like to give a subscription to a friend or relative, or who are no longer interested in receiving the paper, are asked to contact Janet ASAP. Information may be dropped off at 916 Third Street (across from Alexander Baker School), send to P.O. Box 744, International Falls, MN, 56649 or call Janet at 283-2482.

Comic Book activities
In preparation for the Fort Frances Museum’s exhibit on Comic Books, opening Oct. 17, drop in activity days are planned. “Cartoons and Comics” will be Sept. 26 and “Make Your Own Comic Book” Oct. 18. Activities will be for children aged 5 to 12, and run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost is $5/child. Speakers available
Guest speakers are available for free presentations and mini clinics on a variety of senior wellness topics to community groups and organizations. Call Shawn Shofner, 283-8313, at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls for more information.

Corrections board
The Arrowhead Regional Corrections Board will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center, Duluth.

Community potluck
The public is welcome to a potluck set for 5 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Apartments. Participants may bring a dish or the cost is $5.

Curling registration
Curling registration for the 2008-09 season is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fort Frances Curling Club, located at Portage Avenue and Eighth Street. Registration forms are available online at www.fortfrancescurlingclub.ca [3].

Community Market
Backus Community Market continues Saturday, rain or shine, from 8 to 11 a.m. in the AB Third Street parking lot. Fresh produce, baked goods, handmade and specialty products by local artisans and vendors are featured. Backus will provide coffee and bars. The public is encouraged to attend. Interested vendors may contact the Backus office at 285-7225.
Moose meal
The Moose Lodge will serve a Meal-in-a-Dish at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Pain management group
The Chronic Pain Management Support Group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Duluth Clinic-International Falls, Community Room. Topic of discussion is “Fibromyalgia — Wide Spread Pain, What Is It, What the Person and Family Needs to Know,” presented by Dr. Dean Cowman, B.S./D.C. There is no charge. Complimentary refreshments will be available. People with chronic pain, family, caregivers and friends are encouraged to attend. Meeting facilitators are Kathy Ellsworth and Laura Clark.

Leaf tour
The Fifty-Five Plus group from Evangelical Covenant Church, 1631 First Ave. E., will have their annual leaf tour Sept. 25, traveling to Grand Rapids, leaving the church at 10 a.m. and returning approximately 4 p.m.

FHS Yearbooks
Reservations are being taken for the 2008-09 Falls High School Yearbooks during the week of Sept. 22-26 at the school’s in the concession booth during all three school lunches. A $20 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a copy for a non-personalized book. In order to be guaranteed a yearbook in May, books must pre-ordered.
