Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turenne, Shorewood Drive, drove to Duluth today taking their daughter, Janice, to College of St. Scholastica, where she is enrolled as a freshman.
Mrs. Art Holmstrom and her mother, Mrs. F. Stillar, entertained the Rainy Lake Horticultural Society recently at the home of Mrs. Holmstrom.
Mrs. Freeman Forsythe, Rogers Route, was the winner of a Zenith color television set given away as the top prize in the Holiday Service Station’s grand opening event here.

Mr. and Mrs. Hial Pike, 1013 Seventh St,, returned from Duluth where they had taken their daughter, Beverly, to enroll in the St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
A daughter was born today at Falls Memorial Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Roman Glowack, 208 12th St., 8 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces.
Mrs. Andrew Koski, 322 Ninth St., produced a three-pound white potato in her garden.
Miss Lucy Barrett, Staples, accompanied Dr. Mary Ghostley to the Falls. Miss Barrett was a former employee at the county superintendent’s office here and taught school at Loman and International Falls for many years.

Judy Lundquist celebrated her sixth birthday at a party Sunday afternoon. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lundquist. Gerald Nyberg, Lauren Boyum, Ronnie Wold and Eileen Dougherty won prizes.
Miss Mildred Tripp and Fred Williams, physical education teachers for School District 4, were in Bemidji today attending a state district physical education meeting.

David Vicari celebrated his fourth birthday with a party at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Vicari, Vets Village. The children fished for gifts from a “pond of packages” and later searched the yard in a treasure hunt for candy suckers.
