Community members are invited to join with $100, $250 or $500 donations
The Falls Memorial Hospital Foundation invites community members to be a part of the future of healthcare in our area by becoming Partners in Health. Through an annual donation of $100, $250 or $500, individuals can join a group deeply interested in Falls Memorial Hospital and the contribution it makes to the quality of life in our community.
What is Partners in Health?
FMH Partners in Health is an individual giving club dedicated to supporting programs and projects through a commitment of an annual gift of $100, $250 or $500. Partners in Health annual gifts are directed to the Falls Memorial Hospital Foundation to support the hospital’s charitable mission, ensuring up-to-date medical equipment, patient care facilities and health education programs. These gifts are tax deductible.
The Partners in Health committee is comprised of nine community volunteers: Julie Schumacher, chairperson; Dena Bergstrom; Julie Ehrman; Gale Gagnier; Betsy Jensen; Lil Koranda; Norma Krats; Nancy McHarg; and Carol Schumacher.
More than 100 community members became Partners in Health last year, raising more than $10,000 to purchase a new Labor/Birthing bed for Falls Memorial Hospital. “We were proud to have such a successful drive our first year of existence,” says committee chairperson Julie Schumacher. “To be able to see first-hand the impact we can make when we work together is truly satisfying.”
The 2008 Partners in Health Membership Drive
This year, the group is setting their fundraising sights on a new electrocardiogram, equipment that is used to diagnose heart attacks and other heart irregularities. At Falls Memorial Hospital in 2008, the EKG machine has been used as many as 108 times per month in the emergency room (this doesn’t include the approximately 26 times per month the machine is used in other areas of the hospital, such as surgery). That adds up to as many as 1,296 uses per year!
Partners in Health receive an appreciation gift, inclusion on a recognition plaque at Falls Memorial Hospital and special invitations to hospital events. For more information on becoming a Partner in Health, contact the FMH Foundation office at 283-5524.
