Curling basics
Instructors Dave Johnson and John Cann will teach the basics of curling at a presentation, “Learn the Sport of Curling,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 14 and 21, at the Fort Frances Curling Club. Religious Education
Religious Education Mass and registration for First Reconciliation and Confirmation Grades 2 and 7-11 is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Bemidji Aglow
Bemidji Aglow will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Beltrami Electric Co-op Building. Area residents who attended the Washington, D.C., conference, “A Voice for the Times,” will present a panel discussion with highlights of the conference. DFL gathering
The Koochiching County Democrats, DFL, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bob Walls Memorial Union Hall, DFL Office. All interested citizens are welcome. Topic will include preparation for the 30th Annual DFL Walleye Feed Oct. 30 at the union hall. Call 285-6104 for more information. A reminder that those who did not vote in the Primary Election will need to register to vote before Oct. 14 for the General Election.
Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers will meet Thursdays at Zion Lutheran Church for weighs-in at 11:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., with meetings at 12:15 and 5:45 p.m.
Peace Is The Way event
The community is welcome to gather with The Peace Cell of International Falls between 11:45 a.m. and noon Wednesdays at the City Flagpole. The purpose is to raise collective consciousness with a five-minute silent intention for peace within ourselves, our families, our community, our country and in our world. In case of inclement weather, the group will meet by the memorial inside the courthouse.
Teen Gaming
Teen Gaming will be featured from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Falls Public Library. Teens in grades 7 and above are welcome to hang out with friends and play games like Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, Mario Super Strikers and more. No registration is necessary.
Sportsmen’s association
Koochiching Sportsmen’s Association will gather for the fall meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sportsmen’s trailer.
Women’s club
Rainy Lake Women’s Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Carol Johnson.
