Marvin Windows and Doors was selected a 2008 Minnesota Waste Wise Leader.
The award, announced Oct. 24, recognizes Minnesota businesses that have demonstrated commitment to sustainable businesses practices, including waste reduction and recycling.
Marvin was recognized as a manufacturing company for its commitment to the environment by providing green products.
“Marvin Windows has been an active member of Minnesota Waste Wise for 15 years, and we appreciate their ongoing involvement with the organization,” said Mark Blaiser, Minnesota Waste Wise. “Marvin has implemented successful waste reduction and environmentally sustainable businesses practices, saving money and proving that less waste is smart business for a better environment.”
The award mentions that Marvin purchases raw lumber from Sustainable Forestry Initiative suppliers.
Marvin also received a Minnesota Governor’s award for excellence in waste and pollution prevention and a Minnesota Smart Business Award for voluntary waste reduction efforts.
