‘Celebrate Recovery’
We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. As a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up or habit. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based, 12-step program and the group meets every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church. Everyone is welcome.
The Lamplighters
The Lamplighters, an on-going women’s support group for survivors of incest and/or childhood sexual abuse, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Sunrise Center Against Sexual Abuse, 203 Third St. Facilitator is Pam Bechik, MA in Psychology. Community Clothes Closet will accept drop offs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Aquinas Hall, 810 Fifth St. The Closet will be open from 10 to 4 Thursday.

Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Annual Bake Sale is planned for 10 a.m. Friday in the hospital lobby. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of equipment for the hospital.

Koochiching County Senior Center will present their Thanksgiving Party Thursday. “Borderland Pioneers” will be featured from about 10:30 a.m. to noon. Meal reservations are needed by Wednesday.
BCEC gathering
The BCEC quarterly gathering is planned for Thursday at the CIO Union Hall. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., with supper at 6.
Phone recycling
Borderland Humane Society is currently participating in a cell phone recycling program. By recycling old cell phones, the humane society can receive money for the old phones, with all proceeds going to BHS. The community is urged to help by donating phones to help animals in need. Phones may be dropped off at The Daily Journal, Radio Shack or K-104/KGHS Radio Station. Anyone with questions may call 218-324-2313.
