A tough stretch of games for the Falls Broncos against Class 3A schools came to a close Saturday with a 70-37 loss to Cloquet.

In four straight contest, the Broncos lost to Hibbing, Proctor, Duluth Denfeld and Cloquet, and coach Shawn Gilbert is ready to get back on track against similar Class 2A programs.

“We knew it was going to be a tough part of the schedule,” he said. “I think we’ll be ready to play Warroad on Tuesday.”

Danika Stelton finished with a team-high 16 points on Saturday, while Sophie Fredrickson added seven points. The Falls got off to a poor start as the Lumberjacks outscored the Broncos 47-16 in the first half.

“Most of these (Class 3A) schools have too much depth and too much size,” Gilbert said.

The Falls (2-8) returns to action Tuesday at home against the Warriors before hitting the road Thursday at Virginia.
