The art club will come together for a potluck dinner Christmas party Dec. 1 at the home of Kay Arnold

The Northland Art Society met Nov. 5 at the Backus art room. President Barb Gray presided over the meeting.

Member Cathy Johnson stated having the art room open to the public when there are events at Backus has turned into lots of community socializing and browsing the artwork and pottery with much enthusiasm.

Joyce Rasmussen finalized plans for the Backus fund raiser from the art society. The adult workshop was Nov. 7-8. These classes inspired the art club and Lisa Jenkins would like to give another stain glass class in January. Jenkins would also like the club to prepare a space to highlight the creative and fanciful glass work. The light would enhance the glass.

The Backus Art and Craft Show will be Nov. 28.

Ryan Skogstad will display art at the hospital for the month of November. Also displaying at the Coffee Landing Metro this month are Joyce Rasmussen, Kay Arnold, Barb Gray, Cathy Johnson and Rosie Rasmussen.

Lynn Lufbery, along with other members of the club, are organizing for the Annual Christmas Art Show at the Coffee Landing Metro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 5. This is a great way to purchase local art for that Christmas gift and meet the artists.

The club will gather at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 for a potluck dinner Christmas party at the home of Kay Arnold, 3190 County Road 112.
