Rec commission

The International Falls Recreation Commission monthly meeting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Falls High School cafeteria.  A meeting of the whole will take place at 6:30, regarding the Recreation Commission’s proposal for a taxing district.

Public forum

Sen. Tom Saxhaug and Rep. Tom Anzelc will discuss the state of funding for long-term health care, answer questions, and hear concerns from community members at a free public forum scheduled for 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Society’s main dining room. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Retired Boise Cascade pipefitters and welders will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

‘Questions of Faith’

The topic of Sunday’s Ecumenical “Questions of Faith” class set for 4 p.m. in the Memorial Hall of First Lutheran Church is “Countering Pharaoh: Production/Consumption Society,” the first in a two-part series. The Exodus story of slavery in Egypt continues on today in more sophisticated ways. The community is encouraged to join Dr. Walter Brugemann (video) who will take participants through the biblical narrative and its parallels today. Donna Olsen will be the facilitator. Coffee will be provided.
