The following people have been sentenced for aggravated misdemeanor or felony crimes in Koochiching County District Court.

• Robert E. Perry, 41, International Falls, was sentenced Oct. 29 for felony first degree test refusal.
He was ordered committed to the Minnesota Commissioner of Corrections to spend 51 months in jail.
• Jesse L. Phillips, 40, Big Falls, was sentenced Oct. 8 for felony third-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm and gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated — refusal to submit to a test.
On the assault, he was sentenced to one year in the county jail and must pay $142 in court fees.
On the DWI, he was sentenced to one year in jail and $3,217 in fine and court fees.
Eleven months and 21 days of the jail and $2,000 of the fine were stayed on court conditions. He was placed on two years supervised probation and ordered to serve 40 hours community work service. The sentences are to be served concurrently.
• Jeffrey L. Smith, 40, International Falls, was sentenced on April 16 for felony first-degree driving while intoxicated and gross misdemeanor second degree driving under the influence.
On the felony, he was committed to the commissioner of corrections for 48 months and ordered to pay $3,240 in fine and court costs.
The jail time and $1,500 of the fine and court costs were stayed on court conditions and he was placed on supervised probation for seven years. He was ordered to serve six months in the county jail and to perform 240 hours with the Sentence to Serve crew if he cannot afford 30 days of electronic home monitoring. He was also ordered to serve 12 hours with the STS crew.
The gross misdemeanor sentence is to be served consecutively with the felony sentence. In addition, he was ordered to serve one year in the county jail and pay $3,222 fine and court costs. Nine months of jail and $1,800 fine and court costs were stayed for on court conditions and he was placed on three years supervised probation. He was sentenced to serve 240 hours with the STS crew if he cannot afford 30 days of electronic home monitoring. In addition, he was ordered to serve 80 hours with the STS crew.
• Randall W. Alexander, 35, International Falls, was sentenced July 9 for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.
He was sentenced to pay $3,092 in fines and court fees and was placed on supervised probation for two years; $2,950 of the fine and fees was stayed on court conditions.
