‘Serenity Sisters’
The Women’s A.A. gathering, “Serenity Sisters,” will meet at noon Friday at the Backus building, Rational Alternatives Room 101.
Humane society
Borderland Humane Society will gather at 7 p.m. Thursday at River’s Edge Villa. Refreshments will be provided. Members as well as the general public are welcome to attend.
Casino bus

Flu shots
Koochiching County Health Department will offer flu shots from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday. According to the department, the flu season could go on for a awhile and though this year’s vaccine isn’t a perfect match, it will offer some protection. It is not too late to be vaccinated.
‘There Is a Bridge’
Diane Windsnes, Koochiching Coordinator on Aging/Caregiver Consultant, informs the community that Thursday at 9 p.m. and again at midnight, Channel 8 (PBS) will air “There Is a Bridge.” An estimated 5 million Americans are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. “There Is a Bridge” reveals different ways of communicating with those who have dementia and explores how these emotionally profound relationships can change lives.

Mission Fundraiser
The women of St. Paul Lutheran LWML welcome the public to a Special Mission Event and Sloppy Joe Free Will Dinner to support the work done by Lutheran Mission Association in the North District of Haiti this 2008. Lillian Spilde, member of Lutheran Mission Association, will be guest speaker and show pictures of the work being done in the Haiti mission field. LMA members will be present to answer questions.
