Road restrictions
Spring road restrictions for all roads under county jurisdiction will go into effect 12:01 a.m. Tuesday at the same time as state highway postings. Postings will be 5 ton per axle for all gravel roads and county blacktop roads without adequate gravel base. The majority of state aid blacktop roads will be posted at 9 ton per axle with the exception being at 7 ton per axle.

Retired electricians
Retired Boise Cascade electricians will gather for breakfast at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Class of 1941
Falls High School Class of 1941 will gather for a noon luncheon Wednesday at the Holiday Inn.

Ice show
The International Falls Figure Skating Club’s 33rd Annual ice Show is set for 7 p.m. March 29 and 1:30 p.m. March 30 at Bronco Arena. This year’s show is titled “Hopes and Dreams.” Advance tickets can be purchased at City Drug, Thrifty White, Super One and Super Valu.

Quilters guild
Northern lights Quilters Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at First Lutheran Church. Guests are welcome. Members are encouraged to bring Show & Tell. For more information, call Deb Landmark at 283-3547.

Aquilo League
Aquilo League will gather for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

Pain management
The new Chronic Pain Management Support Group plans to meet twice each month on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the community room of International Falls Duluth Clinic on Keenan Drive. The group is open to anyone, is free and can be joined anytime. Those who live with any type of continual pain are urged to attend for pain control support, sympathy, information, understanding and venting. The Lamplighters
The Lamplighters, an on-going women’s support group for survivors of incest and/or childhood sexual abuse, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Sunrise Center Against Sexual Abuse, 203 Third St. Facilitator is Pam Bechik, MA in Psychology. A light meal will be provided by Domino’s Pizza prior to each group meeting. Pre-register by calling 283-9334.

Kids karaoke
King of the Road Entertainment announces a family fun night, the first Kids Karaoke Night, scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Bob Walls Memorial Union Hall. All proceeds will go to the Music Education Fund and the International Falls school district.

Ice show
Border Skating Club’s 36th Annual Ice Show, “Disney Magic,” is set for 7 p.m. March 29 and 2 p.m. March 30 at the Ice for Kids Arena, Memorial Sports Center, Fort Frances. Guest skaters will be National Level Competitors in Pre-Novice Dance, Michaela and Scott Botsford. Advance tickets are available at Memorial Sports Center front desk and at Skates & Blades. Tickets will also be available at the door. Prices are: adult, $12; child/student/senior, $8; children under 4, free; and weekend pass, $15.

Open volleyball
Open mixed volleyball will be played from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. Thursday at Backus gymnasium.

Public Bingo
Persons 18 and older are welcome to play Bingo at 1 p.m. Tuesdays at Koochiching County Senior Center.

Perogies, meatballs supper
The Moose Lodge will serve a Perogies and Meatballs Supper beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the lodge.

Retired pipefitters, welders
Retired Boise Cascade pipefitters and welders will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barney’s Family Restaurant.

Snowmobile club
International Voyageurs Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

Community Knitters
The final meeting for Community Knitters will be April 8. However, until then, the group will gather from 7 to: 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at First Lutheran Church for inspiration and help with questions. There is no set schedule, agenda or cost. All are welcome, including those who crochet, tat and do other fiber arts. Contact Kay Crowthers at 324-0761 or 283-6614 for more information.

Class of 1944
Falls High School Class of 1944 will meet at noon Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

Gastric bypass group
The Gastric Bypass Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Falls Elementary School Library.

Ostomy group
Borderland Ostomy Support Group will meet at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Basic workshop
Rainy River Community College will offer an Excel 2007 Basic Workshop Thursdays, March 27, April 3 and 10 (note new dates) from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room SS-135. Lessons will cover working with formulas and functions, formatting a worksheet, working with charts, and analyzing data. This hands-on course features a colorful, easy-to-navigate text that facilitates learning quickly and will serve as an excellent reference tool after the course is completed. Cost is $49 which includes a book. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. To register, call 285-2207.
