Tax deadline almost upon us

Created 03/27/2008 - 3:48pm

March came in like a lion and appears to be going out like a lion as well, but maybe we can move on to April showers bring May flowers.
With the beginning of April just around the corner, that means the tax deadline is almost upon us. The library has plenty of copies of the basic forms with a book of reproducible forms and Internet access to print any additional forms you might need. But a brief reminder that we can’t tell you what forms you need. Please know what forms you need and we can help you find them. Also, be prepared to pay for copies of forms that aren’t supplied to the library by the federal or the state government.
The Friends of the Library will hold their monthly board meeting Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. Anyone interested in supporting and promoting the library is welcome and that’s no joke. The Friends’ monthly book sale will be Tuesday, April 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. All sales are by donation and all the profits go to benefit library programs. April will also be the Friends membership drive. Watch your mailbox for a renewal letter or stop by the library and pick up an application to join the Friends of the Library. The annual membership fee supports library programs and activities.
Family Night in April will be Tuesday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m. and feature activities celebrating poetry month and Children’s poetry week. Create active poetry through games and stories and create your own book to store your favorite poems. Families with children of all ages are welcome and no registration is necessary.
Storytimes will continue Thursday mornings at 10:30 throughout the month of April. We will read about rabbits, eggs, frogs and gardening. Storytime is open to any child and guardian, with a focus on children ages 3 to 4. Storytime is an excellent chance to begin introducing your child to the skills they need to succeed in reading and in school. No registration is necessary, just come on down to the meeting room in the basement of the library and join the fun.
The library lobby has a new photograph exhibit. This exhibit is by Marlene Wisuri and features photos of items at the Scott House. Come enjoy the exquisite pictures of old and antique items. The library has space in the library lobby beginning in May. If you have a collection of artwork that is framed or matted that you would be interested in sharing for a month or two, please come talk to Diane Adams at the library. We’d love to exhibit your pictures.
Access the library catalog and a variety of indexes and online reference resources 24 hours a day via our Web site at www.arrowhead.lib.mn.us/ifalls/ [1]. To access the databases from home, please call and ask for the user id and password or pick up a business card with the information the next time you are in the library.
