Students participate in BSU conference
Emily Halla, Tara Houglum and Curtis Turban, all of International Falls, participated in the ninth annual Student Scholarship and Achievement Conference at Bemidji State University.
Halla is a senior majoring in mass communications.
Houglum is a senior majoring in mathematics and math education.
Turban is a senior majoring in criminal justice.
All three presented exhibits at the conference. Nearly 160 students presented exhibits, posters or performances on subjects related to their majors.

BSU to offer filmmaking course
Bemidji State University will host a documentary filmmaking workshop from June 9-27 where participants will produce their own film for broadcast on television.
Each student will write, produce, direct and edit their own short documentary that will be aired on KBSU-TV, the BSU cable channel.
The workshop will be presented as a summer school course at Bemidji State, “Documentary Workshop,” meeting from 1:30-4:10 p.m. The course will be held in Deputy Hall on the Bemidji State campus and is limited to 30 students.
