The Ranier City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Ranier Community Building.
Council business will include approving monthly accounts and hearing a request from the municipal liquor store to hire four part time bartenders. The store recently lost two bartenders and the city must approve the hiring of personnel.
The council will also consider a request from the water committee to have Kim Lessard, the Ranier city maintenance worker, purchase waterline supplies to be on hand for summer repairs.
The building, streets and grounds committee will request approval for a letter of notification to be sent regarding damage to city property last year.
Two building permits will also be considered to allow Jean Kelly to add a second floor on her garage, and for Jim Bruggeman to build a home.
New business will include a request to make the community hall available to the Rainy Lake Orchestra for the week prior to the August 15 concert performance. The city also determines whether to make the hall available for no charge or for rent.
The council will also consider the water CD renewal on June 1, which would allow the city clerk, Kim Nuthak to search for preferred interest rates and invest the funds.
The council will also consider the renewal of the on and off sale liquor license for Woody’s Pub.
