Kurt Eisenach, electrical engineer for the Insulite Division of Boise Cascade Corporation, has filed for the office of representative in the state legislature for district 64-B.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carlson, 1016 Sixth St., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Paula, to Robert Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Patrick Russell, Albert Lea.
Tuesday Musicale is providing partial scholarships for Falls High School students Anne Walter, Gretchen Haugland and Joel Anderson to attend Bemidji State College music camp.
Diane Berg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Berg, 1308 Beyer Drive, is the first graduate of Rainy River State Junior College.

Mrs. Laura Streby, formerly of this city, has returned from Glenwood. She is employed at the Fred Scoggin residence, Riverview.
Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Thompson, 711 Sixth St., returned from an eight-day visit in North Dakota. For three days, Mr. Thompson attended the World Institute on the Teaching of Typewriting at the University of North Dakota.
Many friends of the Sig Thomas family will be happy to hear about their improvement. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have been hospitalized in Mora since June 7 following an automobile accident.
Christ Johnson of the Falls was present for the 100th birthday celebration for his father, B.T. Johnson, July 8, in the Minerva community near Bagley.

The department of the army announced this week that the casketed remains of Pvt. Jacob S. Bocnuk of International Falls have arrived in the United States from Italy. He was killed in action in Italy Feb. 20, 1944. The body was one of 89 World War II dead returned to this state at request of next of kin.
An improved and economical method of unwinding paper on Mando’s new supercalenders brought Roland Ruelle of the machine department a check for $375. Ruelle, a backtender of Number 2 paper machine, devised a steel “insert” or adapter that permits coated paper to be wound on three-inch metal cores rather than on eight-inch paper cores.
Relatives and friends honored Mrs. Albert Lessard, 710 Fourth Ave., at a surprise party on the occasion of her birthday Sunday.
B&M Cafe on Third Avenue, behind the 300 Club, is under new management. Mrs. Alice Beaulie, owner for eight months, has sold the business to Mmes. Ann and Loree Laurant, mother and daughter, who formerly Lived in Grand Rapids.
