The International Falls Police Department has concluded its investigation into three threats of violence that were left on the Falls School District’s voice mail system in March and April.
A 12-year-old International Falls boy was arrested following the third threat. The threats closed schools in the district for two days in March.
Falls Deputy Chief Darryl Waller said they are confident that only one person was involved in the threats. The case has now been forwarded to the Koochiching County attorney.

Burglary: Russell E. Petrick, Warroad, reported Monday that the door to his apartment, 200 Fourth Ave. W., had been kicked in. A Playstation, games and DVDs, valued at over $1,000, were reported taken.

Assault: Jennifer J. Herrly, 313 13th St., reported Friday that she was assaulted outside of her residence. She was transported to Falls Memorial Hospital.
Personal injury accident: A vehicle driven by Amara J. Tomevi, 18, 316 20th St. E., struck a vehicle driven by Edith Sandstrom, 83, 901 Second St., Friday at the intersection of Third Street and Ninth Avenue, causing more than $1,000 in damages. Passenger Leslie C. Olson, 60, reported an injury.

Personal injury accident: Vehicles driven by Melanie J. Olson, 21, 3229 County Road 24, and Catherine S. Walker, 75, 3933 Hwy. 11, collided at the intersection of 17th Street and First Avenue West Friday, causing more than $1,000 in damages. Walker complained of an injury.
Animal bite: Officers were called to a residence located at 1314 11th Ave. W. Saturday for a loose dog, owned by Terrina Shoquist. Officer Mitch Lessard was bit on the shin and was treated at Falls Memorial Hospital.

Alcohol was not involved in an accident that involved two International Falls teens Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Travis M. Cody, 19, of International Falls, struck a vehicle driven by Caitlin R. Calgaro, 16, of Iron, on Highway 37 at Tamminen Road in St. Louis County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Calgaro was killed in the collision.

Local law enforcement uses machine
Local law enforcement officials use a breath test machine that is involved in a lawsuit between Minnesota and the makers of the machine.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in March by Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Campion for the state of Minnesota against CMI of Owenboro, Ky., the makers of the Intoxilyzer 5000EN. The lawsuit involves the source code of the machines, and does not question the accuracy of the results from the breath test.

Theft: Michael D. Spears, 515 Eighth St., reported Wednesday that tools, worth $5,000, were taken from the back of a vehicle parked at his residence.
Burglary: Clark L. Palmer, 509 Eighth St., reported Wednesday that a tool set and oil had been taken from his garage.
Theft: Ryan A. Schmidtbauer, 1305 Seventh Ave., reported Thursday that a three-wheel all-terrain vehicle, valued at $1,000, was taken from his residence.

Fire: An all-terrain vehicle owned by Jody D. Hart, 1826 First Ave. W., was reported on fire. The cause of the fire is unknown and a monetary value of the damage caused is also unknown.

The Moose Lake Police Department has completed its investigation into an on-ice incident at a girls’ hockey game in January and has submitted a report to Carlton County Attorney Thomas Pertler.
The investigation stems from an altercation that happened at the end of a game between the Falls High Broncos and the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels on Jan. 26 in Moose Lake. The incident resulted in a Moose Lake player suffering a concussion.
Pertler is continuing the pending investigation into the incident.
